Pacific Lumber & Truss began in 1931 when Clayton Morse opened a small lumber yard on the Oregon Coast. His commitment to hard work and honest service built the foundation for what Pacific Lumber has become today — a trusted partner for builders, framers, and contractors across the Pacific Northwest.
Now led by third-generation owner Jim Morse, the company continues to grow while holding tight to its core values: diligence, expertise, and genuine customer care. Every project — from foundation to finish — is backed by decades of knowledge and a promise to deliver both quality materials and dependable service.
As the fourth generation, Mitchell Morse has stepped in to carry that legacy forward — bringing a modern approach to sales, leadership, and innovation. Mitchell began his career in California with Champion Lumber Company, where he built a strong foundation in the industry before returning home to help lead Pacific Lumber into its next era of growth.

Major Changes in Our History
1985
Jim Morse and his father, Dick Morse, purchase L&M Building Supply, marking the beginning of the Morse family's ownership in the building materials industry.
1993
L&M Building Supply relocates to Sherwood, Oregon, rebrands as Pacific Lumber Company, and hires Darrel and Josh Thrasher — who help guide the company's growth and direction.
2001
Pacific Lumber Company moves operations to Hillsboro, Oregon, building a new facility to support expanding service throughout the Pacific Northwest.
2003
Pacific Lumber acquires TVBS and opens a Lake Oswego lumber and truss plant, formally expanding into truss manufacturing.
2005
Pacific Lumber & Truss opens a lumber and truss facility in Bend, Oregon, extending service into Central Oregon.
2014
We relocated all operations into a single Beaverton, Oregon location, moving into a 66,000-square-foot facility at the former Georgia-Pacific site where Jim Morse began his lumber career in 1983.
2024
Pacific Lumber & Truss moves into its 100,000-sq-ft headquarters on a 20-acre site in Donald, Oregon, featuring expanded yard operations, upgraded truss tables, and a Fast Frame system — positioning the company for long-term growth.
